Suspect arraigned for assault for allegedly breaking another man’s jaw
A suspect was arraigned in Josephine County Circuit Court today on charges that allege he punched another man and broke his jaw.
According to a probable cause affidavit filed by the Josephine County Sheriff’s Office, 22-year-old Alexander Thomas Green was standing in the roadway yelling at 11:30 p.m. Jan. 28 at 4508 New Hope Road. A neighbor came out of his house and asked Green to stop yelling. Green responded by saying he could do whatever he wanted. The neighbor then approached Green’s residence to speak with his sister and Green snuck up behind him and punched him in the jaw.
The neighbor’s jaw was broken in three places from the punch. His jaw had to be wired shut and metal plates were inserted.
Sheriff’s deputies arrested Green at his residence at 4:00 p.m. Monday.
Green is charged with second-degree assault and is held in jail on $20,000 bail.
