A truck side swiped a car with its trailer on I-5 southbound around milepost 78 at approximately 10:23 a.m. Tuesday.

An Oregon State Police incident log indicates 18-year-old Mia Alanez of Phoenix was driving her 2003 Kia Rio in the fast lane when a blue semi-truck and trailer began changing lanes from the slow lane to the fast lane. The rear of the trailer struck the car’s front passenger door and the front quarter panel during the lane change. The collision caused the vehicle to spin out but Alanez managed to maintain control.

Alanez and her passenger, Lauren Driscoll, were not injured in the incident.

The driver of the truck did not stop and continued traveling south without being positively identified.
