SOU Grapplers Contend for NAIA Title
2nd ranked Southern Oregon University concluded the first day of competition in a tight race with Grand View and Montana State for the top spot with four wrestlers still competing for individual titles at the NAIA Wrestling Championships.

Top ranked Brock Gutches, out of Crater High in Central Point, pinned his first opponent and claimed a decision in the quarter finals as he looks to defend his 2012 title in the 174 weight category.

Roseburg’s Mitchell Lofstedt had three quick pins in a total of three minutes and 51 seconds to advance to today’s semifinals in the 125 pound weight class.

Prescott Garner of West Linn at 133 and Jimmy Eggemeyer of Kodiak, Alaska at 149 pounds remain in contention.
