Vigilante Beating Earns Probation for Two Jackson County Men
Christopher Garrett, 20, pled guilty to attempted 2nd degree assault and Moses LaPort, 19, pled guilty to 2nd degree assault Wednesday afternoon in a plea agreement hearing in Jackson County Court.
The two were sentenced to probation for the vigilante attack on a man accused of molesting two teenage girls. All other charges were dropped.
The pair were facing measure 11 charges that included attempted murder for their assault on 23 year old Mark Alexander Tabor on August 11th of last year in retaliation for the alleged sexual assaults.
Judge Benjamin Bloom told the men they would face prison time if they violated the terms of their probation, which includes staying away from each other, and Tabor.
Tabor remains in the Jackson County Jail on $300,000 bail facing many counts of sexual abuse for the alleged assaults on the two sisters.
