A 23-year-old man pled guilty today in Josephine County Circuit Court to charges of sexually abusing a girl under the age of 12.

Travis Shelby Smith, who has spent over a year in jail as the case developed, was arrested in February 2012 on the charges that he molested the girl in four separate incidents between Aug. 1, 2007, and Nov. 19, 2011.

Smith pled guilty to a single count each of attempted first-degree rape, sodomy, sexual abuse and unlawful sexual penetration and a plea deal with the District Attorney’s Office will likely net him an 85 month prison sentence.
