The bomb squad was called in to a home on Laureldale Lane off of Rogue River Highway at approximately 9:00 p.m. Monday for the diffusion of a fragmentation grenade.

Oregon State Police troopers detained 43-year-old Ronald Wesley Friddle on a second-degree assault warrant at their Grants Pass Office. They then executed a search warrant on his residence at 434 Laureldale Lane where they located several items related to the search warrant as well as the grenade.
The OSP Bomb Squad was summoned to the scene and they took control of the device without incident.
Friddle is facing the assault charge due to an incident last November where he allegedly punched a man and knocked him out into a ditch and continued punching him until he broke the man’s eye socket.
Friddle is being held on $50,000 bail.
