Southern Oregon fires this morning
Southern Oregon fires continue to burn but firefighters are still in the fight for the long haul.
Here is a rundown of current fire statistics.
The Big Windy Fire 25 miles northwest of Grants Pass has burned 3,703 acres, is threatening 33 structures and is 0 percent contained. 269 firefighters are currently battling this blaze. This fire has closed the Wild and Scenic Section of the Rogue River.
The Labrador Fire located 13 miles northwest of Cave Junction has burned a total of 1,970 acres and is threatening a total of 47 structures in the Oak Flat area. Due to limited visibility from smoke, aerial attacks have been limited on the fire. Oak Flat remains at a non-mandatory evacuation level and 537 firefighters are attacking the fire.
The Brimstone Fire has burned a total of 1,711 acres, is threatening 40 structures and is now 15 percent contained. The fire is located 10 miles northwest of Merlin. 696 firefighters are on the scene.
The Douglas Complex of Fires is now listed at 28,496 acres, is seven percent contained and is being fought by 1,645 firefighters. The fire is located seven miles northwest of Glendale and due to increased visibility air attacks have been initiated against the fire.
