Fire crews fare well at Brimstone Fire
Fire crews are faring very well at the Brimstone Fire and they now have the 2,218 acre blaze 25 percent contained.
703 people are assigned to the fire and they have 13 engines, 10 water tenders, four bulldozers and up to eight helicopters at their disposal.
Tall snags in the northwest corner are causing not only a safety hazard but are also throwing embers in the wind. Firefighters are felling them whenever possible but the snags are sometimes in nearly vertical locations and nearly impossible to reach.
Hog Creek Road and Quartz Creek Road remain closed to everyone except residents of the area and firefighters.
