Douglas Complex hits 50 percent containment
The Douglas Complex of Fires seven miles northwest of Glendale is now 50 percent contained. The fire has burned 45,483 acres and is being staffed by 2,771 firefighters, 105 engines and 12 helicopters. Evacuations remain unchanged today.
The Big Windy Fire 25 miles northwest of Grants Pass remains at 15 percent containment. The fire has burned 15,358 acres and is manned by 1,351 firefighters, 48 engines and four helicopters. The incident management team has been replaced with another team to prevent exhaustion. This is a typical forest service practice. The Wild and Scenic section of the Rogue River is now open.
The Labrador Fire 13 miles northwest of Cave Junction remains relatively unchanged and is still at 2,020 acres. 79 firefighters, four engines and four helicopters are manning the fire.
