Firefighting costs soar in southern Oregon
The costs to fight wildfires in southern Oregon continue to compound.
The Oregon Department of Forestry has spent over $58 million fighting the Douglas Complex of Fires and the Big Windy Fire and they expect this figure to continue to rise.
Most of the major fires that have burned in southern Oregon are eligible for FEMA aid but that aid will not be felt for some time.
The ODF has spent a total of $71 million this year fighting fires around Oregon.
