Two Medford Residents Arrested for Embezzlement
Medford Police met with Amanda Shannon, 34, Tuesday and arrested her on seven counts of aggravated theft in the 1st degree and one count of 1st degree theft after allegedly embezzling $175,000 dollars from Western Lumber Company.
The investigation began in January of this year when it came to light that when Shannon worked for the company over the course of two years she allegedly deposited the company’s money into her personal credit card account and into her boyfriend’s credit card account. Shannon was terminated for unrelated reasons in November of 2012. It was following the termination that the unusual transfers were noticed.
Monday detectives met with the boyfriend, Kevin Chesnut, 35, and cited him for three counts of 1st degree theft and five counts of aggravated theft in the first degree. He was released. Shannon was lodged.
