Identity of motorcycle crash victim released
The identity of a motorcycle rider who died Thursday at 8:00 a.m. on Redwood Highway at milepost 14 has been released.
Oregon State Police say 56-year-old Randall Kent Lubin, of Selma, was driving his 2003 Harley Davidson motorcycle northbound on the highway when he crossed the center line for an unknown reason and collided head-on with a 1992 Peterbilt truck pulling a semi-trailer. The truck’s driver, 59-year-old Lee Conner, of Springfield, couldn’t avoid the accident and stopped a few hundred yards down road.
Lubin, who was wearing a protective helmet, was pronounced dead at the scene.
OSP troopers from the Grants Pass Worksite are continuing the investigation.
