Gold Hill desires part-time cop to curb crime
The City of Gold Hill hasn’t had a city paid law enforcement authority in over a decade but the hiring of a part-time cop is in the works for the small town which is typically protected by the Jackson County Sheriff’s Office.

The 20 hour a week position was approved unanimously by the city council.

Once hired, the officer will be charged with stopping vandalism, criminal mischief and other crimes that have been on the rise in the area as well as performing code enforcement.
