Samurai sword attack sends man to the hospital
Paramedics transported a man to the hospital early Friday morning after his brother attacked him with a samurai sword.
Grants Pass Department of Public Safety officers responded to the 2400 block of N.W. Highland Avenue at approximately 1:47 a.m. to reports of a stabbing. Another relative at the scene, 18-year-old Christian Burnison, received a minor cut on his hand while trying to intervene.
Nathaniel was transported to Three Rivers Medical Center where he is receiving treatment. Burnison did not require medical attention.
Preston Sweaney fled from the scene before officers arrived and he is described as a white male, 5 feet 9 inches tall and 155 pounds with hazel eyes, a scar on his chin and tattoos on his chest, right calf and shoulder. He also has a Mohawk strip and was wearing blue jeans and no shirt at the time of the incident.
