GP Staffers Continued Working to Prepare City & Parks for Recreation Season
Grants Pass staffers continuing working to prepare the city and its parks for the busy spring and summer recreation season.
Last week, staff replaced nearly a dozen lights on the softball fields at Reinhart Volunteer Park, improving visibility and safety for evening games.
Downtown staff also replaced a broken light globe in the Grasshopper Parking Lot to maintain consistent lighting and enhance safety.
Tree planting efforts continued throughout the park system including delivery of the first two of 40 trees for the Grants Pass School District. These plantings are part of an Oregon Department of Forestry Urban and Community Forest grant awarded to the City this year to support citywide tree canopy growth and expand green spaces in underserved areas.
Staff also replaced a damaged surface drain at the Grants Pass Skate Park to improve safety and functionality.
