GP Police Cited Driver for Hitting & Injuring Young Pedestrian in Crosswalk
Grants Pass Police cited a motorist for two violations after he struck and injured a young pedestrian near the downtown area last night.
The Police Department reports officers and emergency personnel responded to the vehicle-versus-pedestrian crash at the intersection of SW 3rd and H streets on Thursday shortly after 6 p.m..
Police said an investigation determined that a motorist they identified as "Logan Albright" was driving a Toyota pickup west on H Street when a 10-year-old boy entered the crosswalk while riding a scooter. Albright failed to stop for the boy and struck him with his vehicle.
According to the report, the young victim was rushed by ambulance to Rogue Regional Medical Center in Medford for what appeared to be serious injuries. The boy's mother responded to the scene and rode in the ambulance with her son.
Video surveillance of the incident was obtained. Following the investigation, Albright was cited for Failure to Yield to a Pedestrian and No Insurance.
