Deputies Cited Motorist for DUII after She Crashed Pickup Truck near Selma
The Josephine County Sheriff's Office arrested a motorist for impaired driving after she crashed her vehicle near Selma.
According to the Sheriff's Office, deputies, the Illinois Valley Fire District and American Medical Response were dispatched to the single-vehicle rollover wreck in the 300-block of Lakeshore Drive on Saturday at 1:30 p.m..
Upon arrival, emergency units observed a black pickup on its top down an embankment and pinned between trees. Fortunately, the occupants had self-extricated and no injuries were reported.
Deputies identified the driver as "Leah Helfrich" and said she showed signs of impairment at the scene. She was cited to appear in court for Driving Under the Influence of Intoxicants and was released to her mother who drove down from Springfield. The wrecked pickup was impounded.
