Deputies Snared Woman for Four Warrants and New Crimes in Cave Junction

The Josephine County Sheriff's Office arrested a woman on four outstanding warrants plus two new crimes in Cave Junction yesterday.

The Sheriff's Office reports deputies contacted 35-year-old Richelle Marie Staples in the 300-block of South Redwood Highway on Thursday at 2:23 p.m..

Deputies said they spotted Staples and were aware that she was wanted on four warrants issued out of Multnomah, Washington and Columbia counties. They contained charges of Probation Violation related to Possession of a Stolen Vehicle, failing to appear in court for Criminal Mischief, failing to appear in court for Furnishing False Information to Police and failing to appear in court for various misdemeanor crimes.

Staples was observed throwing a glass pipe into the grass. It was recovered and determined to be coated in methamphetamine residue.

Staples was transported to Grants Pass and lodged at the Josephine County Jail on the warrants plus new crimes of Meth Possession and Offensive Littering. She was being held without bail.
