Deputies Snared Out-of-Compliance Sex Offender after Domestic Call in Selma
The Josephine County Sheriff's Office arrested an out-of-compliance sex offender after responding to a domestic disturbance in Selma last weekend.
According to the Sheriff's Office, deputies were alerted to the incident in the 100-block of Hogue Drive on Sunday around 12:45 a.m..
Deputies said a woman called 9-1-1 to report a disturbance between her and her son -- 39-year-old Michael Anthony Carrero. The caller said she was trying to go to bed, but her son would not let her and began to throw items at her. The woman stated she was in fear of what her son might do, but she did not want to press any charges.
Upon arrival, deputies contacted Carrero and found him to be out-of-compliance with his sex offender status as he had not registered in more than a year and had been living at the incident location for over a month while out of registry.
Carrero was placed into custody, transported to Grants Pass and lodged at the Josephine County Jail for Failure to Register as a Sex Offender.
