Wrong-Way Cyclist Arrested after Nearly Hitting GPPD Patrol Vehicle

An officer with the Grants Pass Police Department arrested a man following a bicycle stop Wednesday afternoon.

Around 2:58 p.m. the suspect, Kevin Reeves, was detained after being stopped by law enforcement at the corner of NE 7th Street and NE Jackson Street. He was seen riding his bike on the wrong side of the road and had nearly hit the officer's patrol vehicle.

Reeves was found to be wanted by his parole officer, so he was taken into custody. The officer transported Reeves to the Josephine County Jail where he was lodged for a probation violation. A lack of jail resources was the impetus for his later release.
