OSP Arrested 2 Motorists for Impaired Driving in Separate GP Stops on Sunday

The Oregon State Police arrested two motorists for impaired driving during separate weekend traffic stops on the same day in Grants Pass.

According to OSP, the first incident occurred on Sunday at 12:29 a.m. when state troopers pulled over a Dodge Ram 1500 pickup driven by a 37-year-old man on SE 6th Street near Voorhies Way.

Troopers said they stopped the pickup for a traffic violation and the driver showed signs of impairment. They said he was arrested and transported to the Grants Pass Sobering Center where he provided a breath sample that exceeded the legal driving limit. He was cited to appear in court for Driving Under the Influence of Intoxicants and Reckless Driving before being released from custody.

The second incident happened on Sunday at 8:33 p.m. when troopers pulled over a Lexus IS driven by a 33-year-old man at or near the South Y interchange.

Troopers said they stopped the vehicle for speeding and the driver displayed signs of impairment. They said the suspect refused to provide a breath sample, so he was taken to Three Rivers Medical Center for a legal blood draw. The suspect was then lodged in jail for Driving under the Influence of Intoxicants. His car was towed.
