GP Police Snared Felon on 3 Local Warrants after Patrol at Shopping Center

Grants Pass Police arrested a felon on three local warrants during an early morning patrol check at the Grants Pass Shopping Center.

According to the Police Department, officers contacted 38-year-old Steven Carsten Juergensen near Rite Aid at the shopping center on Wednesday around 1:35 a.m..

Police said Juergensen was acting suspicious by concealing his face with a shirt and refusing to provide his name. He was identified from past contacts, there was a trespass letter on file and all the businesses were closed.

A records check showed Juergensen was wanted on three Grants Pass warrants for failing to appear in court for 2nd-Degree Theft, 1st-Degree Criminal Trespass and Fentanyl Possession. He was placed into custody without incident.

Juergensen was found to be in possession of plastic and foil that had untestable amounts of narcotics on them. They were seized and destroyed.

Juergensen was lodged at the Josephine County Jail on the warrants and he was being held on $37,500 bail.
