GP Police Jailed Man on State Warrant after Getting Anonymous Weekend Tip
Grants Pass Police jailed a man on a statewide felony warrant after receiving an anonymous weekend tip that he was at a north-city motel.
The Police Department reports officers arrested 32-year-old Tyler Christopher Bacon, Jr., at the Super 8 Motel on NE 7th Street late Saturday afternoon.
Police said Bacon was called in by an anonymous person who advised Bacon appeared to be intoxicated and was attempting to operate a vehicle. They said he was contacted at the motel and provided a fake name of "Ian Brown."
After Bacon's true identity was revealed, it was discovered that he was wanted on an Oregon State warrant for Felony Parole Violation stemming from a previous kidnapping conviction. He was placed into custody without incident.
Bacon was lodged at the Josephine County Jail on a no-bail detainer.
