GP Police Snared Man on Local Warrant after Sleeping in Front of Business
Grants Pass Police arrested a transient for sleeping in front of a business in the downtown area late last night.
Police said they contacted 46-year-old Jason William Whittenberg while he was sleeping under a business's store front patio cover near the corner of SE 6th and I streets on Monday around 11 p.m..
Police said Whittenberg was blocking the entrance to the building and sidewalk. They said he is known to them from previous contacts and wanted on a Grants Pass warrant for failing to appear in court for 2nd-Degree Criminal Trespass.
Whittenberg was lodged in jail on the warrant and trespassed from the downtown area.
