The nomination period for the 2025 cohort of Southern Oregon's Top 10 Emerging Leaders is drawing to a close.

This initiative honors individuals 40 and under -- including students -- who are making significant contributions to our community through their professional achievements and community efforts.

Emerging Leaders is dedicated to recognizing and supporting young professionals and students who are committed to make Southern Oregon a better and safer place to live. Through leadership development and community engagement, the organization fosters the growth of future leaders in the region.

Sharre Whitson, Emerging Leaders Committee Representative, said the program is more than just an award -- it's a prestigious recognition that opens doors to greater opportunities. She said "even being nominated for this distinguished honor is a testament to one's leadership, impact and dedication to bettering our community."

The primary criteria used to select finalists include residing in Josephine or Jackson counties, evidence of a strong interest and commitment to making our community a better and safer place to live, a current job that includes some level of leadership responsibilities or a student with high achievement, indications the applicant will be an enthusiastic learner and contributor within the peer group, evidence of a strong work ethic, professional maturity, and high personal standards for performance.
