I moved to Grants Pass with my family in 1994 and attended Grants Pass High School and Rogue Community College. In 1999, I moved to Ashland to attend Southern Oregon University, where I graduated in 2003 with a B.S. in journalism and a minor in political science.
In 2002, I interned at the Ashland Daily Tidings newspaper, then reported full-time for the Central Point Sun while copy editing the SOU student newspaper.
Then, in 2003, I served as managing editor of the Jacksonville Review-Sentinel. Upon my graduation from SOU, I took a position as city government reporter for the Turlock Journal in Central California.
By 2004, I decided to come back to Oregon and served as the press secretary for a Congressional campaign. I then worked as an aide in the 2005 Oregon Legislature before returning to Grants Pass.
In 2006, I was the news editor for the Rogue River Press and in 2007, I was the county government reporter for the Illinois Valley News in Cave Junction.
I began as KAJO/KLDR news director in August 2007.
I'm happily married to my beautiful wife, Annaka. We have a son, James Kennedy, who was born January 3, 2008 and her daughter, Madeline.
