City Council looks at changing ward boundaries
The Grants Pass City Council during their Wednesday meeting at 6:00 p.m. in Council Chambers located at 101 N.W. A St. are set to discuss the shifting of ward boundaries in order to make each ward’s population more equitable.
Forecasters predict the city’s population will continue to grow into the southwest and southeast wards and staff has several suggestions for boundary lines that would come close to organizing the population proportionally in each of the city’s four wards.
Staff proposed elected officials who would reside within a different ward after the boundary changes would have to run in the new ward for the next election.
