Suspect vehicle crashes into another vehicle during a police chase in Cave Junction
A suspect vehicle that was involved in a police chase with the Josephine County Sheriff’s Office and the Oregon State Police crashed into another vehicle in Cave Junction Thursday.

The Cave Junction contracted sheriff’s deputy attempted to stop a white Chevy truck at approximately 1:30 p.m. at the intersection of Schumacher and Sawyer Ave. when the suspect vehicle went off road in an attempt to flee.

A nearby OSP trooper became involved in the pursuit as well and the suspect vehicle was next seen entering Highway 199 at the north end of Cave Junction and authorities chased it south. The suspect vehicle then went off road again and as it attempted to enter E. River St. the vehicle collided with another vehicle. The two male suspects then fled the vehicle on foot and they managed to evade capture. The occupants of the victim vehicle were uninjured and declined medical treatment.

Anyone with information about this case should contact the Sheriff’s Office during normal business hours.
