Jackson County Sheriff’s Office to Host NRA Competition
The Jackson County Sheriff’s Office is hosting a National Rifle Association Tactical Police Competition this Friday and Saturday. The event begins at 8:00 a.m. at the Jackson County Sports Park at 6900 Kershaw Road, Central Point.
The competition is open to both active and retired sworn law enforcement officers from both public and private agencies and U.S. Military members.
Competitors will be tested on their abilities to shoot duty hand guns, shotguns, and patrol rifles. It incorporates both competitive skills and scenario courses to allow the individual to practice and evaluate their ability to use duty firearms and gear in hypothetical police settings. Currently, there are local law enforcement officers entered as well as some from agencies across the country.
Awards will be given in each division and law enforcement category.
