Missing Shady Cove resident last seen requesting a ride to Grants Pass-UPDATED
The Jackson County Sheriff’s Office is searching for a missing Shady Cove resident who was last seen requesting a ride to Grants Pass.

57-year-old Dwain Hodge was last seen Sunday at approximately 3:00 a.m. at a residence near Trail in the 27,000 block of Highway 62. Hodge rang the residence’s doorbell and when the homeowner answered the door Hodge requested a ride to Grants Pass. The homeowner told him to hold on and left him standing outside. When the homeowner returned, Hodge was gone.

Hodge’s family originally reported him missing Friday evening when he walked away from their camp. Search and Rescue Volunteers from Josephine, Jackson and Siskiyou counties went out first thing Monday morning in the Trail area. There are also several K-9 teams involved in the search. There are concerns for Mr. Hodge’s well-being because of the high temperatures.

Hodge is described as 5 feet 9 inches tall and he weighs 180 pounds. He has brown hair and brown eyes. He has some remaining impairments from a stroke and he is known to wander along Highway 62.

Anyone with information about the location of Hodge should contact the Jackson County Sheriff’s Office by dialing 541-776-7206.
