USFS temporary tower finished at the Illinois Valley Airport
The United States Forest Service has finished the construction of a temporary air traffic control tower at the Illinois Valley Airport as they continue to set up a firefighting helicopter base.
The frequency of the tower is 125.725 MHz with the hours of operation from 8:00 a.m. till 8:00 p.m. daily. The tower will be operational throughout September but the Notice to Airmen expires Sept. 2 and will renewed if needed.
The firefighting base will remain operational through September and possibly well into October if the need arises.
