Details Released on Serious Collision that Hospitalized Two
The Medford Police Department has released additional details on that serious accident at Riverside and Stewart Avenues on Monday night that left one man in critical condition at OHSU in Portland and a 73-year-old man in serious condition at Rogue Regional Medical Center.

The investigation revealed that a silver 2003 Honda Civic, being driven by a 29 year old man, was northbound on Riverside Avenue when it crossed into the southbound lanes of Riverside while going through the intersection of Riverside and Stewart Avenue.

A 2011 Subaru Legacy was southbound on Riverside Avenue in the middle lane. As the Honda Civic approached the Subaru head on, the Subaru driver was able to swerve and avoid a serious collision. The Civic glanced off of the Subaru and struck a 2011 Toyota Scion head on, which was travelling southbound on Riverside. The Scion was driven by the 73 year old male.

The Honda driver was flown to Portland while the driver of the Toyota was hospitalized locally.

A Medford Police Detective and other police officers from the Serious Traffic Accident Reconstruction Team responded to investigate the crash. Evidence points to the 29 year old being under the influence of a controlled substance, but the case remains under investigation.
