Ashland Murder Suspect Arrested In Vancouver

Othon Robert Campos Jr., a suspect in the murder of 62-year-old Frank Ronald Damiano of Ashland, was arrested and jailed Saturday morning in Vancouver, Washington.

A Jackson County Grand Jury indicted Campos and Merlin Elmo Bound III, both of Medford, Thursday for the murder of Damiano, who was found dead in his Ashland home on October 10th.

Bound was taken into custody on Tuesday and remains lodged in the Jackson County Jail without bail. Detectives had developed information that Campos was in the Portland-Vancouver area and alerted all agencies to be on the lookout.

Around 9:30am Saturday, dozens of U.S. Marshals converged on the IGA grocery store at 2109 St. Johns Boulevard in Vancouver and apprehended Campos. He is currently lodged in the Clark County Jail.

Bound and Campos are both charged with two counts of felony murder, two counts of 1st degree robbery and 1st degree burglary. Campos faces an additional charge of aggravated felony murder, which carries a possible death penalty.
