Jackson County Escapee Captured
The Jackson County Sheriff’s Office has confirmed Bradley William Monical, 43, who escaped from the Jackson County jail in November of 2012, is back in custody and will be returned to the Jackson County Jail soon.
The U.S. Marshals arrested Bradley Monical in the Portland area Tuesday afternoon. The fugitive investigation led marshals to a home located in Oregon City. Monical was arrested without incident. A female associate, with Monical during his arrest, is being questioned regarding any involvement to his escape.
Monical was booked into the Multnomah County Jail where he is still lodged.
Monical escaped through the recreation yard on top the upper level of the Jackson County Jail and was able to jump onto a nearby tree fleeing from custody.
Monical is a convicted bank robber. He was later indicted on another armed robbery in Ashland, where he was accused of entering a Premier West Bank with a gun and stealing money from the teller stations.
Monical was in state custody on the original bank robbery charges, but was transported to Jackson County to face the additional charges. Additional federal bank robbery charges in Oregon and Idaho have been filed as well as charges for his escape.
